Case Study – First Degree Murder

In a highly publicized Kansas City metro first degree murder case, Rick Carney Law used a forensic lab to test the tip of a bullet that had been fired into the upper body of the victim.  Utilizing an electron microscope, the lab discovered particles of silicon embedded in the tip of the projectile; proving that the bullet had been fired through a glass window. Thus negating testimony that the victim was shot out in the open, resulting in a not guilty verdict for our client.

Assault and Battery

Case Study – Battery

This case involved a local high school student athlete, accused of assault and battery of a teacher. This situation placed the students college scholarship in jeopardy. The case went to trial and Mr. Carney was able to secure an acquittal of all charges, allowing the student to finish his last year of high school and secure his college scholarship.

Case Study – DWI (drugs)

Mr. Carney tried a case in which an over the road trucker was charged with Driving Under the Influence of Drugs. A conviction would have resulted in the client losing his commercial vehicle license. Based on testimony of a Forensic Chemist the client was found not guilty.
